Manama, Bahrain - 19th August 2006: The Interhotel Basketball Tournament kicked off yesterday at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, with 7 Teams competing for the title. Yesterday evening’s match saw the Sheraton and Gulf Hotel teams squaring off against each other. After a shaky 1st Quarter, the Sheraton team took a decisive lead and finished strong, with a closing score of 79 – 70. Tomorrow’s match will be held at 8pm at the same venue, with the Sheraton and Ritz Carlton teams on the court.

This year, the Interhotel Basketball tournament has been brought to life once again by popular demand, and will feature teams from the Sheraton, Gulf Hotel, Ritz Carlton, Regency, Diplomat, Mercure/Novotel and Chilis. So far three friendly matches have been played in July, all of which saw the Sheraton in the lead, making them a strong contender for this year’s title.
