eRumor / Hoax - PIN NUMBER REVERSAL (GOOD TO KNOW)

Here is another eRumor / Hoax floating around on the Internet, which was also forwarded to us via chain e-mail.
---------------
PIN NUMBER REVERSAL (GOOD TO KNOW)

If you should ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from an ATM machine, you can notify the police by entering your Pin # in reverse.

For example if your pin number is 1234 then you would put in 4321. The ATM recognizes that your pin number is backwards from the ATM card you placed in the machine. The machine will still give you the money you requested, but unknown to the robber, the police will be immediately dispatched to help you.

This information was recently broadcasted on TV and it states that it is seldom used because people don't know it exists. Please pass this along to everyone possible.---------------

Tax on Repatriated Money in Bahrain?

There are reportedly discussions on a 1% repatriation tax on money expats send back home. Les Horton in the GDN makes some valid points. To quote his figures, there are approx. 270,000 expatriates living in Bahrain, of which about 192,000 work. The expat population contributes a tremendous amount of spending power to the national economy, not to mention the cheaper labour in many sectors. Also, the repatriated money for the majority goes home to feed families back home. So it looks like putting this law in force may just discourage more foreign investment, plus add fuel to currently dormant 'hawala' or black money trails.
